What video editing software do you use other than WMM

I Love YTtalk
Can you please tell me what you use because I need something that is free (for at least 3 months, better for ever) and something where I can add overlays including videos and pictures ect.

What is there that can do it.

We use vegas pro 10, what are your rendering specifics?
because our video preview always look immense but after render and upload im always a bit upset with the grainy discoloured look i get
i have played around with settings, changing back and forth, nothing seems to work

My render setting is
Audio: 192 Kbps; 48.000 Hz; 16 Bit; Stereo; WMA
Video: 29,970 fps; 1440x1080 Progressive; WMV; 8,4 Mbps
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,333

And I think it's really good quality.

I use the basic programs. Adobe premiere elements or Sony movie studio HD. Planning on upgrading as well
