Not all of this is true. I'm 14 and look where I'm at. I didn't get here without extreme amounts of knowledge about SEO and audience interaction.

A lot of YTers like Shane Dawson and AmazingPhil started at 18-19.
So, age doesn't really play a factor.

    GO YOUNGER YOUTUBERS!!

I really hope my voice isn't annoying to my viewers, though I've haven't got complaints so I guess I'm fine.

It feels weird to me if I watch younger you-tubers because I'm 21 and watching someone almost half my age just feels a bit creepy, no matter how good their content may be. 16 is probably the youngest I could watch without feeling uncomfortable about it.

Look it up, I'm not good at explaining, especially typing on my phone, but I'll give it a shot. First of all make sure and make tons of gateway videos that reach out and grab viewers who in turn, turn into subscribers. Make sure and tag those videos correctly and use some tools to help you such as the YouTube keyword tool. The title and first two sentences of your video should be the most optimized.

Everyone acts like you can't care about your fans and still make money. I know for damn sure not everyone on here is a monk who thinks possessions are evil, so please drop the "money is evil" rote.

To answer the original question, I personally think most young Youtubers are very high pitched when talking, which I personally can't stand. Other than that, they generally have a very different type of humor than I do. There's also the fact that there are TONS of them, making it even harder to find the few good ones.
Aaaaaaaand to cheer you back up.. A lot of the "older" youtubers now, started when they were young and got better as they grew. If you stick with youtube content making for another 6-7 years, you're quite likely to gain a lot of attention just by that. Being around, getting better, and not least, growing older, wiser, getting a darker voice, etc.

    Glup off.. *drum solo*
