What do likes and favorites do?

Hi guys,

I'm have a partnered channel on youtube, however I always hear the talk about revenue being created through the views. However I have noticed almost every channel asks their subscribers for likes and favourites. I'm curious how exactly it contributes to the revenue generated.

Well likes and favorites will show up in some peoples timelines, they also help to let youtube know your video is good and will highten the position of it in the lists but apart from that not too much :)
 
Likes will boost you on search, same for Favs, also if someone with allot of subs likes/favs it the subs of that person might check out your video, and who knows, maybe they might stay. :)
 
As others said, they help with searches. Also when you like/fav/comment, they appear in your feed (if you have it visable), therefor others who are subscribed to you also see it in their feed.
 
Also, if a video is favorited that probably means the person will watch the video again....if it's one of their favorites :)
