I have to admit I don't really think of youtube as a serious career choice either, but in comparison with long hours in a busy kitchen cooking two meals a week for a living sounds pretty damn good.

I'm already retired / stay-at-home mom. It's been years since I worked my day job as a college financial aid administrator. Now all my work on YouTube is volunteered to the animal shelter. I work A LOT on the channel and on other video projects for the shelter. It's like a job that I enjoy and get no pay.

I work in a factory, and I am close to quitting to travel. I'll be living off savings for a while, my channel only just covers the beer ;)

I work with IT and Web.
And I think I'm pretty far off from making YouTube into a living :p'
We'll see in 3-5 years perhaps.

That's likely, if it happens it'll likely be heavily focused on the locations and experience. I don't mind narrating, but am not a fan of being in front of the camera.

I mean, I get to make videogames for a living. Not sure why I would stop that for Youtube lol. Maybe if my channel was MASSIVE I would use the income to fund an independent project instead of working for other people, but I've gotten like 100 subs in 2 years, that's never going to happen for me. The channel is just a creative outlet for real life stuff that I'd be doing anyway, even if I wasn't filming it.
