Using Youtube Ads To Advertise your Video

So I saw that I can pay a amount of money daily to get traffic to my channel I can target viewers on age and interest is this worth to invest my money into ?
 
Adwords - For some people it helps - for others its a waste.
I spent £50 last month to promote 2 of my vids and I thought it was a waste of money. And/But since one of those videos has blown up. Whether it was because of Adwords?
Ive spent £75 this month promoting 3 other vids and will see how it goes.
 
I used it about a year ago on one of my older videos, can't remember how much I spent, maybe $25.00? and I think it net me like... maybe 3 views.

I have also wondered about this promotion tool too. The price that guy said seems very steep for an add campaign for only 2 videos. going to keep an eye this thread because im interested in this also. Good questions bud :)
