Tutorials Monetization

I just have a simple question. Could I monetize tutorials on how to use a software. Do i need permission to do it?
It depends on who manufactures the software. You can find out by emailing the company or reading their terms and agreements.

Some software companies do not allow it, but if it is educational, you may be able to use the fair use excuse. (That rhymes way to well... Who wants to make a song called "Fair Use Excuse" with me? lol). What software is this for? For example, I have a tutorial on game developed monetized in the program Unity3D, and they are fine with it :)

I've got written permission of Ableton Live's developers that I can monetize tutorials on their software, never had to use it though.

I want to monetize Gimp tutorials.

You should be able , if it is educational which i assume a tutorial is then yes you should be fine.
Make sure though you desktop background is not copyrighted though , that is quite important!
