The confusing world of "Tags"

I'm not exactly sure what to put in the tag bar for my videos. I do gaming and i dont know how many tags I should have for each video and what kind of tags I should have

Get vid IQ!, Heartbeat, and or TubeBuddy. They are all free and as long as you have a keyword (lets say the name of the game) it can help get a few more tags. I am not very good at tagging either though, so I know i am not super qualified to give advice, but this is just what i do.
