The Best Partnership!

Hey ClydeWk5 how are you doing bud? I'm just curious on how Networks decide how much they are willing to pay per 1000 views. I mean how do they come to the figures, Is it an overall thing or depending on the audience size?

It seems to me, its a secret that they won't reveal, in my experience, is either by luck or they did choose the ads. I heard from people mentioning "you can actually negotiate a minimum amount of cpm/rpm with fullscreen if you are big enough." I can't since I'm small, I asked them multiple times and they all return me the same answer, something like "We believe we got the best cpm/rpm out there, but it all depends on the month." Which I think is not accurate. some of my views are from mobile (But that goes to almost everyone), but still most of my views are not from mobile and is 80% from united state. I asked over 6 partners of fullscreen, 4 of them got lesser views than me, the lowest one earn about 2 Rpm, Okay so you see that? we are in the same month but among all the 6 (including me) = 7, I earn the lowest. How can this be? we all are at the same month? I got more views than most of them. So why? My theory is, either they randomly give ads or they choose. If they like you they'll give you more? Or Its just random. But one thing I can confirm is, if you are big they'll give you better ads. That's about it.

Hey, nice little info bud thanks. Whats CPM & RPM? Are they both the same stuff or different depending on what network.

CPM = Cost per mile (1000), Rpm = Revenue per mile (thousand), means how much you earn every 1000 views, cpm is before cut, rpm is after cut, youtube take 45% and your network take certain amount of percentage after youtube cut and the result is called "RPM".

Hey, so for example bud. I get paid $3 for every 1000 views? So in total let's say in a single video there are 10,000 views. That means I get paid $30 for that single video bud? But at the end of the month let's say I earn a total of $400 that means I take my cut for example 50% and the Network and YouTube will need to share out their cuts from the 50% bud?

Yeah, I wonder why too, I got about 10k views per day, I know a lot of partner of fullscreen got about 2k views per day they earn about 2 - 3 rpm, I got 0.7 - 0.8, I know I b***h about this here a lot but, it looks like a joke to me.

Exactly my problem :).[DOUBLEPOST=1379367494,1379367268][/DOUBLEPOST]

Youtube will take 40% of your earnings 400-40%= 240, and then your network will take their cut (default fullscreen split is 70 / 30) so 240 - 30% = 168. Thats what you are going to earn.

Hey nxinyourface how are you doing bud? Thanks for your response appreciate it very much. Damn looks like YouTuber's can come out with "a bit" of money every time they get paid.

To be honest, we can be glad that they are actually sharing their earnings with us :).

Hey, I'm getting abit confused here bud, hope you can help me out.

Let's say every 1000 views I get paid $5. At the end of the month I have a total of 50,000 views. That mean's I've earned $250.
The "Network" that I am working for has 60/40 cut so I would take 60%. So that means $250-60%=$150 so I take $150 and does YouTube take a cut from me or from the "Network" bud?

Thanks

I only use RPM, people usually use cpm here, there are some confusion tho, but to avoid confusion I'll cpm now, rpm is after cut meaning, 1rpm = exactly 1 dollar after youtube and your network cut, your instance is CPM. Just use RPM. Also since you are using cpm I'll tell you what exactly is happening, let's say every 1000 views you make 5 dollar, in that 5 dollar youtube will take 45%, after the cut from youtube, the network will take another 40% away from your remaining. the result will be called "RPM"
