TGN vs Fullscreen - Thoughts Please

Hello all,
I'm currently partnered with TGN, and things have been fine, though I have been a bit disappointed in the payouts, but not awful either. I was approached by a Fullscreen recruiter who extended an invite.

What are your impressions of both of them?
How do their payouts compare to each other?
Do both offer the same level of coverage for gaming channels?
Does either stand out as helping channels grow?

Also, to give me a better idea, what would a best guess RPM be for a channel about my size?

I appreciate the time and thoughts,
Youngblood

What do you mean by 'coverage'?

In my opinion, networks don't do anything that creates any significant growth for channels unless you are top-tier.

Ability to post gaming content without potential copyright issues. The recruiter already said that it's no big deal and I would be covered for uploading that content, but I didn't know if there were significant differences between networks.

I'm partnered with Fullscreen, so i'll give my feedback from my experience.

Fullscreen is a great network. They have great support, have a forum, and they are really great with their community. They put their partners into different sub hubs to fit with your genre. (For example, I'm a vlogger and i'm in the hub Vlog Union). (Everything stays the same, they just make it easier to find people with the same genre).

They have a $100 payment threshold. Average split is 70/30, but depending on your channel size it may be different. You can also negotiate.

Not really sure what you mean about coverage.

Networks don't help your channel grow. They provide resources, and a forum for your channel to grow, but they don't do anything to help it grow. I'm not sure about Fullscreen Arcade (That will most likely be the hub they put you in), but with Vlog Union they do weekly "Vlogger of the Week", where they choose 3 vloggers and people vote. Whoever wins gets a little bit of promotion, but don't count on that to grow your channel.

Thanks man. Good to know that they at least gave you a favorable impression. The $100 threshold is kind of a bummer, but it's not a deal breaker by any means. Do you notice wild swings in your RPM from month to month, or is it fairly stable?

TGN has its ups and downs. The one thing that I really enjoyed about TGN was their partner promotion. I received alot of promotion and help with my videos. However, that was when George was still there. Idk what things are like now. On the other hand the partner support wasn't very good and the payouts were very little compared to other networks.

I have not been with fullscreen but personally I feel they would be a better choice. TGN is more of a starter network.

There isn't any significant difference. You can upload gaming content almost anywhere but the networks may assign you to a particular gaming hub or vertical group. Networks don't protect your gaming content. They will tell you to only use copyrighted material from those games where the producer gives you permission. Then you typically have to use voice-over and claim Fair-Use. The network isn't giving you any particular protections.

I have not been in either network, but I thought I would give my outside opinion.

I think TGN would probably be my second choice in this pick because although they have the #TGNArmy, which seems like a great way for promotion, I think there is a few flaws with it. As well as this, they only have a couple of hubs, which means fiercer competition to get your videos on them. Also, I think their network is more geared to e-sports YouTubers because there is always promotion around them, especially when they join the network.

Firstly, Fullscreen is an MCN. This means they have complete control over everything. Whereas TGN are under Broadband TV and so you have two groups of people who could potentially make mistakes, and TGN has to make Broadband TV happy. Fullscreen makes itself happy. :) As well as this, their hub channels are less developed. This is a bad thing because there isn't as many subscribers, but it means there is most likely less bigger competition to compete with.

But, you need to find what is right for you. You need to choose the network that is going to benefit your channel the most.

Personally none of them work for my channel, Fullscreen refused to give me a good contract, and my CPM stayed at an all-time low when I was with them. I wouldn't ever consider going to TGN.

You need to take a look at the bigger Picture. Switching between different Networks will only result in higher Payouts if your Split also does increase at the same time.

If your View Counter has at the same time an significant increase of Views over an timeframe of at least six up to twelve Months you will notice an increase in your earnings too.

Overall I would avise you too instead of thinking about what could have been to stop with those thoughts and instead focus in the upcoming two or three Years on your current Channel and it`s Community and after that you will probably have enough knowledge to do the right thing or switch to a different Network or get a better Contract with TGN or...

Good Luck
