So i'm trying to render a video which i have less than 2 hours to get out and the render time is just increasing i used to take up to an hour but this video has taken like 4 i accidentally press ESC then saw my preview was on 'good auto' so i put it on 'draft auto' now my render time was cut by 10 mins BUT it switched itself to 'good auto' again so im pretty sure the problem will show up again FYI this is the task manager stats:

my specs (if that helps)
CPU: i5 4200u 2.30GHz
RAM: 4GB ddr3 1600MHZ
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 740m
HDD: upload_2017-8-15_22-28-39.png (some weird thing)
also please give me advice on stuff i can use (so free no buying or hardware unless u can give it to me)

it really depends on many factors. In what quality are you rendering? 4k? 1080p? Your render settings... if using custom, make sure you are not using like 50 000 000 bitrates, because then the rendering takes ages. When I was using Vegas I used custom 15 000 000 bitrate for 1080p. If you tell me what quality you are render in, I will help you maybe a bit more.

Try to configure it to 6 000 000 bitrate, in the both cases. I think there is min and max bitrate, both set to 6 000 000.

nevermind turns out my brother took the upgraded ram out (we have the same type of laptops as there was a special on them where i live) and he needed to use it (for his own editing lol) so i only had 4GB when i should have 8 its fixed now but i WILL change the bitrate cos it will probably make it faster

Sure thing. Also in the settings you can set up how much of the RAM will be used while rendering. Somewhere in preferences I think. And yes, it will be faster with 6 000 000
