How on earth do dance videos survive on YT when music copyright is so vicious? I really doubt the bigger dancers aren't making some cash off it, and I don't think the people filing complaints will pass on a video just cause there's some cutie's shaking their hips (though they might, who knows)

Also those "oops I texted my crush the lyrics to _____ song" prank videos where they play the entire (mainstream pop) song. You'd think those would get hit within the first 5 mins yet it became a viral trend.

In general copyright and fair use on YT seems like such a s**t show of randomness and luck.

3rd party claims.

Content ID would find the music instantly and attach a claim to the video where all income generated goes to the rightful owners of the music instead of the channel owner.
