I don't have a kids channel but have been having those second channel thoughts as well but this thread has been really helpful.
I have varied content (split into different playlists) and I loved the analogy of your playlists being different sections in a shop. Grinding to 1M subs and seeing what works best along the way.
Also found the part about reach 2K subs and gaining more subscribers interesting. Noway near finding that out yet but things can change fast on YouTube.
I uploaded today for the first time in 2 months and have noticed although some videos had been gaining subs and views over that time, some others which were dead have also started getting a comment here and there since the upload.
Its almost like uploading was a sign to YouTube to start slowly directing some people to the channel again. Early days but just an insight.
