Reposting on Multiple Channels?

I've seen channels that will have a content down on one channel, but will then direct fans to one of their other channels. How does that process work? And how does the content get claimed/a strike on one page and not the other?

Often times, when a video gets taken down, it's a manual claim by someone who watched it and reported it. They usually won't go so far as to watch and see if their content is anywhere else, so they'll only target the one that they saw and not other uses of their content.
