Recording with LUTS

Does anybody here use LUTS on their footage? If you do, are you supposed to record on your camera with no exposure and make it look as flat as possible then spice it up in post (post editing)?

Well, i don't know how it's "supposed" to be recorded, but i think that it's better to add what you want to add AFTER recording, so that, if it does, it doesn't unnecessarily drain computing power.
