ranking of my videos different when logged in to youtube or not

Hello,

i've noticed that, for a given set of keywords, my videos would rank lower when i'd make a youtube search from a web browser where im not logged in with my channel account. If im logged in, then my video would rank quite higher. I don't understand why results would be different whether im logged in or not. Is it a standard youtube behaviour?

Youtube tends to be biased when you're logged into your account and gives all your videos a misleading boost. For me this only happens when I'm on my laptop or tablet. My mobile's ranking seems to show the truth. I can only speculate exactly why Youtube does this. My guess is that they're trying to making your viewing experience better by ranking videos your more likely to watch based on your previous experience higher.

It seems to go off of your viewing habits from what I've seen. When I do SEO optimization I search for my videos in a different browser that I'm not logged into.

Thanks. That is quite awful, especially since im using the search ranking tool from tubebuddy, that would then display me biased results since i can only access it while logged in with my channel account.
