Hey guys! Ok here's the deal. I have a video that I uploaded back in 08 and it's getting around 1K views a day. I'd love to be able to monetize this, Youtube has told me that I'm "approved" for monetization but the problem is I have two short clips of songs in the background during my video....I'm worried if I start monetizing that they will pull the video and then I'll lose all the views (currently have over 1.5 Million) and also all the traffic from having a video with those views and history.

My question is, what does youtube do in such situations? Would I get a warning or could I just log in some day and see my video gone. ANY HELP WOULD BE AWESOME, Thanks!!

just monetize it, because YouTube reviews it anyway, and will either yay or nay it...
They won't penalize you...

Some of my videos, with nothing they could have a problem with, were denied (one i did was jus an exercise video,
me talking about my goals to lose weight etc)
It doesn't seem to like videos in which I drink haha...but yeah I've never been penalized for my denied videos
