Not sure if this is the right forum (but it looks like it will fit the best here). When a company asks you to mention their product in one of your videos and in return give you a partner link so every time someone clicks the link and purchases you get a small cut....does this need to be mentioned in the video or video description legally? I think it might be good practice letting your viewers know, but legally is it a requirement?

Legally all you have to say that it is an advert and you are being paid to share their product and promote it.

In no way do you have to disclose that you earn money when people click the link just that it is an advert/sponsored video.

It has to be disclosed in the video either verbally or visually. You should put it in the description too but only putting it in the description is not enough. The FTC are really cracking down on this.

Another way of doing it is to tick "This video contains an endorsement / paid promotion" AND also the secondary checkbox that says Help me inform viewers of paid promotion by adding a disclosure to this video.
