One Minute Economics passed the 300 subscriber mark today :)

I know it's not exactly something worth covering on CNN, it does however give me a nice confidence boost and shows me I'm on the right track with the channel.

It's still in its infancy, only 17 videos (through which, as the name One Minute Economics suggests, I explain economics-related concepts through one-minute animations) and I only started actively promoting it a month or so ago.

Reddit is pretty much my only traffic source at this point, I'm open to other suggestions :)

A few days ago, my bitcoin video was on page 1 over at the /r/bitcoin (180k members), /r/btc (about 10 times less members) and /r/cryptocurrency (~20k members) subreddits.

This generated a little over 1k views and brought me ~23 new subs.

Yesterday, I made it to page one with the same bitcoin video (for a relatively brief period of time and even then, position 25 out of 25) on a huge subreddit, /r/videos (about 11 million members!). So far, this got me about 3,500 views and 22 subs. I can only imagine what a better placement (let's say top 5) on page 1 would have done :)

That's it for now, hope you found my experience useful.

I imagine that as time passes, getting new subs will be easier.

I'm currently trying to post two videos per week, one on Tuesday and one on Saturday. We'll see how it goes and again, I'm open to traffic source suggestions :)

That's amazing and that's the power of social media. I will have to use reddit to share my videos
