Hello, I am new to this forum so forgive me if this is the wrong place. I have a YouTube channel that I grew to 3.5k subscribers. In 2017, I quit. I came back around a month ago and started posting relatively frequently. Only problem is my subscribers are completely dead, and after a month instead of gaining subs I lost 18. I am very worried this is going to last forever and I am also worried my videos are being pushed down by the algorithm. I spoke to a YouTuber with nearly 300k subs asking if it was true whether or not the algorithm is hurting dead channels and he believes it is.
I honestly don't want to make a new channel. I already started a series since when I came back and I think people are more likely to sub when they see a higher number. I also have the URL for the channel I want. The only problem is I am afraid my videos will be forever put down and I will be making videos for myself and nobody else. Any advice?
