yaa some videos I used to upload got age restriction. So I prefer to not to take any risk by monetizing that content. Actually you can monetize those videos, its just the advertisers are fussy about putting ads on adult contents. So they don't put their ads. Sad truth but true.
What if you age restrict them yourself? can you still monetize them all the way, regardless?

I can't say this surely. Big youtubers that swear a lot and post adult content, they complain abt advertisers not putting ads on their videos.

I am now losing around $400 a day on my League of Legends Highlights channel. They are putting every single video on limited ads. Every single video I appeal and every single appeal they accept and remove the ad limitation. The problem is they are taking up to 48 hours to remove the limitation so my videos are not earning during the first 2 days of upload when they get 90% of their views.

My videos are highlights of League of Legends tournaments. Literally no reason to flag them as unsuitable and given the hundreds of videos I have reviewed per week and every single time the appeal is upheld you would think their stupid system would learn not to flag my videos.

Speaking to YouTube Partner support is like talking to a robot. They copy pasta the same responses every single time. Today I complained as 15 videos have been awaiting a review for 36 hours. Missing out on around 700k views of monetisation in the process. I said it was shocking that I can lose so much money when there is nothing wrong with my videos. The lady I spoke to said let me take a look. After checking a video that was getting 5k views per hour she responded by saying sorry but you must get 1k views in 7 days before we will review the video. I was speechless. She then incorrectly told me they will only look after 7 days since the website says you must have 1k views in a 7 day period. I told her she was flat out wrong and we argued for 40 minutes until she finally agreed to escalate the issue. YouTube specialist support responded saying they had reviewed the videos and all were ok. When I checked the channel only 3 videos had been reviewed >.< I am so disappointed with this new system and how it does not protect content creators at all.

They care so much about appeasing the advertisers but they will eventually not have enough content creators to advertise through if they keep this up. I would jump ship in a heart beat if there was another platform for me that looked like it could compete with YT.

I am probably just ranting right now as I have been up all night arguing with those Google AI robots they call Partner support. Apologies if it comes across that way just wanted to share my experience with this awful system

This sucks, I totally sympathize. Is there any way you can schedule the videos a few days from now, that way you have time for it to get appealed before it even goes live. This is a suggested strategy until things calm down. We've been lucky so far that our videos usually get about a 10 day run before they get caught by the system.

So this is quite interesting, I have my channel for more than one year and after I reached 30M total views Youtube decided to do "Not suitable for most advertisers" to all of my videos, of course it took time to manualy request for a review and surprisingly majority of the videos got monetized again (it was quite a surprise because my content is really really rough) after this I was quite surprised that my revenue jumped and I got more monetizable views, like this stuff really hit me lol so whats the actual purpose of having a green icon if it doesn't play all the ads? What's the point of not checking the channels before some reach point of totals views (idk really is it 30m total views for me it was 30) all this time I was thinking that my income sucks just because I have rough content ( a lot of rough language, racist slurs, sexual content ) and I was just thinking that I'm lucky just because Youtube doesn't see me lol I was wrong all the time, so the moral of this story, if you wan't to get income you videos need to be reviewed manualy lol
----------------------------------
I created a topic but it was locked, one guy said that "it shouldn't effect your revenue" but it does lol, I have same views compared to last month at the same period, when I got hit with the demonetization and after review my revenue jumped drastically.[DOUBLEPOST=1508110662,1508110518][/DOUBLEPOST]
The "yellow monster" strikes again. Seems like it always hits us on Tuesdays. I checked late last night and everything was fine, but today several dozen videos were hit. No rhyme or reason to it, as usual. Another lost day of revenue for each of those videos, after a great weekend too. Grr....
Sorry for the double post, but I see same tendency, that there are days that they don't usually hit, I upload daily, so I can see a tendency going on when they choose to hit u or no, sometime they hit after 1 day, some time they hit immediately, but every video gets hit, no exceptions so far.
Also about that review thing, I've read comments that if you have 10k subs you don't need to have 1k views in the last week for a manual review? Is it truth? If so, they still don't review my older videos.

I've heard that bigger channels don't need to meet the 1k a week requirement to get a manual review, but in reality they still haven't reviewed any of our videos that haven't met the 1k per week requirement, some are several weeks old without review. Not huge amounts of money but frustrating because many of them are just under 1k per week (some less than 100 away) and it all adds up when you have literally dozens of them.

I have 50k sub channel, I checked my situation with older videos (1 year old that doesn't have 1k views in the last week) I requested for a review like several days ago, but it still shows the yellow icon and it gives me a message to request for a review again it wasn't rejected/accepted it just shows request for a review, maybe a bug?

I don't think it's a bug, I just think it means they haven't gotten around to reviewing it yet. I'm guessing they are absolutely flooded with requests to review these videos and if they're getting less than 1k per week they are probably just not a priority. I'd rather they concentrate on the biggest videos first but yeah it's frustrating.

Sadly no. Covering an ongoing tournament means I have to put the videos out immediately as within an hour there is a new video to go up. Around 8 videos a day 4 days a week. If I held them as unlisted or private they would be fairly irrelevant by the time they went up as the viewers in my niche would be looking for the current days videos elsewhere

I don't get it then, what's the logic of Youtube "Just click the review button and wait for the 1k reach it's faster this way" As they recommend on they're twitter/forums
