I guess I will just post all my questions here instead of writing in 2 threads. Sorry for any bother or confusion.

Any geographical block will cause you to be rejected for monetization. -> I'm in Singapore so that's ok right?

Uploading third party copyright content violates YouTube's channel monetization policies, YouTube's Terms of Service, YouTube's Community Guidelines, AdSense Content Policy and finally, International Copyright Law.

Then how do all the channels with cover songs stay around? Did they obtain a license for all their songs?

I read up on cover licenses but it's still kind of murky to me. Does obtaining a license allow you to monetize?

So based on what I understand Youtube now requires you to join the YPP first before ANY monetization can be allowed...so all the channels that monetize did so before this happened?

What I did is to mute the song that contains copyright claims. but as I look in your channel, it's musical. I doubt if it helps :D
