Multiple Channels Multiple Networks

Can you have 2 channels each partnered with a different network? I am just wondering as I have seen some posts saying something like "I don't like the network I am with so my new channel will be with XYZ". I am wondering if this is a legitimate way to get out of a long contract or if this is in fact a breach of contract as the contract, as I understand it, is for your likeness. So if you take that Likeness to a new channel it is still under contract.

Hope this made sense.

In most contracts, it only ties the channel you are partnering with them. I've heard of some that tie down all channels created while the contract is active and such. You would need to look for that with your current contract.

It all depends on what the contract says with the first network. If the contract says that you cannot have any other channels with other networks than its probably advisable not to do it. However if you have to different channels and partner with two different networks i dont see how they would find out about each other. But its up to you to look into the details of what you sign to make sure its addressed.

It will be stated in your contract, alot of networks claim "first dibs" to any channel created during the contract term, they have the right to partner any new channels of yours if they wish to.

Hope I helped :)

Thanks everyone. Looks like I need to read through my contract again. I have read through it a few times due to issues I am currently having but was not looking for this specifically.

Always inform both networks of this. Some don't care, and some see it as a conflict of interest. Also, it is against the terms of a lot of network contracts. I have seen some people who have done it though.
