You don't need a wide open monster to get good bokeh. =) You just need whatever your lens can get, with plenty of space behind you to create it.

The depth of field on a low light, wide open F stop, say 1.4 to 1.8 is only a few inches. It means one eye may be in focus, the other may be out of focus. There is no need to film with that, and in fact may actually give you more issues.

Don't get me wrong, I love my 1.4 and 1.8 prime lenses.... but the difference between getting the shot and not is only a few inches.
