Is it OK to edlete a video from channel?

There is a channel, quite popular and watched. I want to remove several videos from it. But I heard that if you delete the video from the channel, it can harm his future life. Some say, the algorithms do not like this and can slightly cut the channel down for this in recommended videos. And in this regard, it seems like you should not delete a video, you should only restrict access or make it unlisted.

Is it true? Did someone delete the video and had that experience?

had no idea about this, deleted about 15 videos a while back after renaming the channel

It'll lower your overall stats (Views, watchtime and if there are any; Comments, likes etc) but ultimately if there isnt a lot of those on your video you should be fine...I have a couple of update videos that have single digit views from a year or so ago that I'll be deleting soon because I dont want them cluttering up my videos tab
