Being popular on YouTube is something a lot of YouTubers want so I thought it would be a good idea to talk all about it. Getting popular on YouTube isnt always easy but by doing the right things you increase your chances at success.

Step 1 Titles, Descriptions and Tags

Always use good long descriptive titles, descriptions and make sure to use tags. Keep them relevant too. An example of a good title could be "Chocolate Monsters Fight Crazily For Beer" a bad title for the same video could be "Beer fight". Make sure to write a lot about the video in the description for example you could put something like "This video is about such and such and I talk about such and such a subject at such and such a place and time" be creative with them too and think about how you word it for example you could include keywords that you would like to rank high for in YouTube search for example if you had a video on eating healthily you could mention words in the description like dieiting, losing weight and so on, things people search for.

For your tags make sure they're relevant and reflect the video and use as many as you can appropriately.

Step 2 Recording, Editing and Video Length

When doing videos try and keep the videos under a few minutes, people have short attention spans these days with so much else to offer on the internet and you want to grab their attention, say your piece and end it. Obviously dont cram too much in and if needed leave some parts out that you could do without. If you are doing videos of yourself look directly at the camcorder as if you are speaking to someone sat there, dont look off elsewhere you are talking directly with your audience as if you are on stage.

Having a good quality camcorder with good quality audio and appropriate lighting will make sure others know you put personal investment into your videos and they will enjoy them more than a poor quality video of the same thing. Make sure to edit your videos correctly and cut out any mistakes you make unless they're funny and you would really like to include them.

Step 3 Attracting Viewers and Building an Audience

You have your video or videos ready but now what, you need to attract people to watch your videos. Uploading them to YouTube and leaving them as they are isnt going to help much in most cases. You want to put yourself out there by commenting and talking to people who could be interested in your videos for example if you do makeup videos, talk to girls who might be interested in makeup and get to know them, make friends, you should find yourself with extra subscribers that way as well as more views which will lead to a bigger audience. Dont spam though as you will get a bad name for yourself and try not to do sub for sub, the people who do aren't usually interested in anything but the subscription you give them although it can help to begin with. Being a part of the community and engaging with others is just as important as your videos when it comes to getting popular on YouTube.

Step 4 Video Responses

Doing a video response on an already popular video can help get yours noticed, they show under the video you're responding to and there is a high chance of someone clicking through especially if it looks interesting and is related to the original video.

Step 5 Video Content and Preparation

When making your videos do a script first and practice what you're going to be saying or doing there's nothing worse than someone who doesn't know what theyre going to be talking about or havent got everything they need for the video. Plan the recording in advance and you will find you make a better recording overall which people will enjoy watching more.

Step 6 Be Active

Keep yourself active on YouTube and make sure youre involved and not sitting on the fence waiting for things to come to you, it is similar to the old say "If you dont ask, you dont get" and this applies on YouTube too. Put yourself out there!

Step 7 Perseverance

There's nothing more saddening to see people give up on the things they love doing and if you love making videos and posting them on YouTube you should keep trying. If you have people giving you constructive feedback, take their feedback and use it to your advantage. Be your best and popularity will come to you if you try and persevere.
