how should i promote my channel and connect a view base?

im trying really hard to engage with users around me but actually finding them and promoting my content is one of the hardest things to do. anyone got any tips?

I've been using twitter I know some had said that if you go to those retweet things some will promote it, also I heard that sharing it on facebook or creating a facebook page for your channel helps or if you are in community groups or forums that are in your field of what your channel is that could help, also when you upload a video I think there is this thing called vid2vid promotion.
