How long have you been with RPM for?

Same here. I was with TGN under George and while George is a nice guy the network was horribly mismanaged under him. I've heard that the networks gotten better in the past year and a half... but very similar to other businesses you get one chance with me and if you screw it up your most likely never getting my business again.

Partnership networks are very similar. The main issue is when people first sign usually they are extremely small and will take anything to simply get partnered. This leads to a bunch of scavenger networks that will take just about anyone but offer very little in return.

As you get bigger you learn a lot and you can start getting into the premiere networks that have way better support and features. Sadly with the current business model and the way youtube works unless your pulling in seven figure views a month your just not given much credit.

This is so true and unfortunately RPM, at least from my perspective, is one of those "scavenger networks". Had I known I would have just focused on growing my channel and not bothered with a network until I was large enough to get the attention of a premiere network.

Unfortunately every network now has a scavenger network as the door opener. They kind of have to otherwise the "lowest denominator" scoops up all the talent. Also as a gamer waiting till your "bigger" doesnt always work with monetization. I know personally prior to partnership youtube would only monetize half my content, signing with anyone that wasn't out right scamming me was a win.

Personally in my experience RPM is a win. You get access to maker forums where you can find thousands of collab partners and easily transition from there to TGS / Polaris when your bigger. Other networks dont offer that feature.

Interesting, I did not know that. I was not monetized before I partnered with RPM.

This is true as long as you don't speak out against RPM and get banned from the forums for it.

Yeah even if you have it in writing from a publisher (minecraft / blizzard) yt can take a month or two to allow you to monetize and that right there is just lost money. Granted if your channel is small you may not care, but for me it was a big deal.

As for "speaking out". Not network will allow you to trash them on the forums. RPM in my experience (as a former mod and frequenter of the forums) is more lenient than other networks who's communities I've been a part of.

I really am proud and happy to get partnered before. My views really went up 3x from now. It went down slowly since YouTube changed the way it works. No perks for partners anymore.

I'm honestly not 100% sure.. I think I've been with RPM for around half a year now.. damn I really need to start making new content :L

If you say anything bad about RPM in the RPM forums (the ones on the Maker dashboard) they ban you from the forums, a violation of my contract. And oh yeah they change your referral links without telling you. So all the links you have out on your videos and elsewhere still take folks to the RPM application but you no longer get credit for those referrals!

Hi, @Sir Jaxxy! Your ban from the RPM forums is only a temporary 30-day ban, and it was due to excessive negativity. We don't ban people just for saying something negative or critical, but when it is in excess it can really bring down the community in the forums.

As for the referral links: We've made some internal changes to the way referral links work. Users will now see a new referral link, and links on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube will now all be different as well. All of the new referral links still point to the same place as the old referral link, so everyone clicking on this link will still get directed through the RPM partnership form, and the talent who referred them will still get credit. No cause for alarm, just a small update to how our system works.

So you are admitting that RPM has breached my contract? You see what you call "excessive negativity" I call speaking the truth! I as well as many others had asked for an official response from RPM on the change and shady business practice that took place with the referral links. My official responce from them was to ban me for speaking out. This was a direct breach of my contract as I never violated the forums TOS.

So there is no need for alarm in that I have over 100 links that still send folks to an RPM application but I no longer get any credit for them if they are accepted?

Banning you from the forums in no way breaches your contract.

If what I read from Jess is correct the changed links work as do the originals, they were simply updated.

I have original links in all 1600 of my videos and Im still getting daily signups

Actually it is a breach of my contract as the forums are in fact part of RPM's responsibilities as per my contract and are clearly spelled out as such in the contract! I respect your post and enjoy your channel, however, without having read my contract you have no way of knowing what is or is not a breach of contract for my contract.

It is odd that the old links work for Polaris/TGS partners but not for RPM partners. I have had no tracking at all on my old referral link and even went from having clicks before the change to having no clicks after the change.
