how do I tell if a friend is cheating/botting on youtube?

I do not care very much.
I find it rude that he brags tho.
Slap him down, oh show him this:

If it stays on 301 for a longer time than a few days, its botted.
This is not true. On my channel for example, the majority of my videos are at the 301 view cap and have been there for the past few weeks and I can honestly say that I do not, nor have I ever botted any of my content in any way, shape or form. That's up to you to believe me or not. I made a thread a while ago regarding this issue and we came to the conclusion that it is people who refresh the page/restart the video over and over again (YouTube stops "real" views from showing up once an ip address has been detected a certain amount of times) that are making my videos stay at the 301 cap. These videos do not get many "real" views anyway, hence why they stay at the 301 cap as they don't have enough unique ip addresses/"real" views to exceed the cap.

If I keep hitting F5 on your video it will increase the views by 1 until it reaches 301. Then it does the verification process, and if it finds that there are more than 1 view from a certain IP address, then it will freeze it until there are more than 301 different IP's viewing it. Thats what we are meaning by 'botting', whereas in the past some websites offered actual 'bots' which went to the video page and refreshed it. So these 'bots' are from YouTube.
Then why call it botting?o.O
