Have I missed my chance? - Trends/Capitalizing

[Quick Question]

I am not sure if anyone here follows rap trends/music. But recently a rap artist known as XXXTentacion got sucker punched by Rob Stone, another artist, and his crew on stage while he was performing. This happened a day or two ago and many video have been made (Short ones mostly just footage of the event) but nothing really in-depth or detail.

I am thinking about doing something on it but I am not sure if it's too late and I missed the opportunity already.

How late is too late when it comes to a popular trend on YouTube? Same day? Next day? Any tips on covering buzzing topics or to gauge the speed of trends? Keeping track of them, etc?

YouTube seems to keep trends around a little longer than other forms of media, and the algorithm seems to favor imitation rather than innovation these days...I'd say go for it.

Just make sure yours is the best, and.. i personally wouldn't let it go past 3 weeks after it has happened (if i did these for my channel)
