I have only gotten this to work from either prores or HEVC. HEVC is taking 50x longer than h.264. Its driving me nuts. I just updated Final Cut to 10.4 and Compressor.

If you Google it, all the answers you need will be in the google.support article.
Search "uploading HDR to youtube"

I have googled and youtubed etc. Youtube does say h.264 for HDR. I can't get it to work via final cut or compressor. Maybe it is only Davinci Resolve...?

It lists the colour space, 10bit etc you have to use, so I assume only that'll work, very specific settings. Dunno if FC has that many settings? If not, DaVinci is the way to go yea.

Hi BNielsen, i'm still using fcpx 10.3.4 and upload all my vids h.264 -you do get x2 options faster encode (i use) or better quality. Never any problems. Mayb 10.4 is buggy? How long has that been out?

Maybe it will work better if you try upgrading to High Sierra and installing the latest update Dec 15th (Pro Video Formats)?
