Getting a custom url / name question

Hey all,

I'm eligible for a custom url for my channel. My question is.... Once a new custom url / name is enacted, how will that affect the old url. Will everything remain the same? If I have links to the old url's, will it automatically be redirected to the new url/name.

Your old URL will still work the same way so you won't need to update any old channel links, unless you want them to look cleaner
