As long as Facebook does not share advertising revenue with creators, it has no chance to compete with Yt. The only incentive for Youtubers to post on Fb is the hope of getting 0.1% trickle traffic.
For us as a kids channel, there is zero incentive to waste time on Fb. Our audience is not on there, and even if some were, getting them to click over is hard.
Facebook also runs advertising alongside any native videos uploaded, but does not share that revenue with creators. Now if I was a "like" junkie and likes could pay the rent and buy the groceries, I would be all for getting likes. Apart from an ego booster for some who need that sort of stuff, likes mean nothing in the real world.
With their current model, I don't see Fb as a viable income nor traffic source for Youtubers (unless you sell makeup, fashion, that sort of stuff, and cross promote across all media).
