Hi all,
I am very new to YouTube and looking to grow my channel.
I started an adventure fishing channel and post once per week.

My subscriber count and view count is slowly starting to grow, but I am having a hard time getting people to actually like my videos.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can be more intentional in increasing the engagement level of those who watch my videos?

Thanks very much.

Hi there, I just checked and on my most recent video, my retention rate is 24.7%. I am still learning how to read and interpret these analytics, any insight and guidance is much appreciated!!

You can try to promote your videos via Youtube, if you are looking for 3rd party site to give more engagement to your videos for free (likes, comments, subscribers, views), msg me

Thanks for the post. It's normal if you are new on YouTube then you need to post informative & meaningful video to get more exposure of the audience & gradually increase Views & Subscribers

One simple way? Respond to people's comments. Ask questions in the comments itself and then respond to the answers given.
Call-to-actions within the video do work, so make sure you're actively adding those to your videos. If you have a low retention rate and most of your viewers drop off before the end, then you might want to consider a CTA early in the video. Just make it short and sweet so that people don't tune out.
