Vegas Pro and Premiere Pro are overkill for nearly every YouTuber. You will not use more than a 10th of the features in either.

Hello, personally i am a fan of Sony Vegas and have been using it for around 1 or 2 years for various things.
However, ive been informed of Adobe Premiere being good, especailly with the h.264 codec. What do you guys think?
You will do fine with Adobe Premiere. Good software, easy to use, short learning curve. I use only Adobe, both Premiere and Pro for different projects. You won't need Pro probably, but Premiere 10 or 11 should work just fine for you.

I think Sony Vegas beats the other editing software totally.

Its like
Vegas = Photoshop
Camtasia = GIMP
MovieMaker = Photoscape

Also if you've been using Vegas for 2 years , I wouldn't recommend you to change your editing software.
