The only editors I used for Mac's were "Final Cut Pro X" (was like $200 back in the day) and "Adobe Premier Pro CS6" (Now it's like CC for $19.95 per month or $50 for more Adobe Programs with it). For me those were nice and always reliable. But at the end of the day I tended to like the Adobe Premier Pro more then the Final Cut Pro.

If your buying a mac you can get final cut pro x preloaded for free if you are a student. I personally prefer adobe premier pro / after effects but as i don't have a good income, I edit all my videos on final cut pro x now.
