Do you use monetization?

I'm partnered with a network and I monetized my videos in order to see, for 2 or 3 months, how much I could get with my channel. It was a bit like making my own statistics. Now I disabled it, and I'm going to wait until I get enough views per day so that it's worth something, so that I can buy a few games with it, and donate more to Kickstarter projects or indie developers that I want to help.

It won't pay any bills.

Depends on how successful you are. Maybe not for many people, but for some, you can make a enough to pay a couple of bills no problem.

Yes i use monetization via a 3rd party network and i must say my revenue is increasing!

I will admit that at first it was hard watching myself make cents per day, but with the right view count you can make some significant $. Once you have yourself a loyal fanbase/suscribers, you begin to set yourself an average $/day or $/week goal. Being in college its good knowing I'm getting paid while my classes are keeping me from having a regular day job.

Yes, most of my videos are monetized directly through Youtube, so no I'm not a part of a network. I earn enough to get paid every month, and my income gradually increases along with the amount of views I get.
