Disney/Maker Studios: only 300 creators?

Thanks to Mommy and Gracie for bringing this to my attention. Apparently, Disney is scaling back their creator network to only 300 members!

I mean, but it's 300 of the largest YouTubers with the most sponsorships and such. I doubt that they are gonna take a large hit from scaling back.

I agree, those 300 are all top tier people but I have to wonder how many of those top channels will leave in solidarity with pewdipie. It might prove to be a bad move in the long run.

I don't get the worth of a lot of these networks. They take a huge cut of revenue for not really any discernable benefits. I mean I'd join a good network now because I'm small and I've nothing to lose (if you're watching Jamie Olivers food tube lol). But if you're already successful I don't get why you would still need one. Maybe I'm jut not as clued up on them as I should be.
