So ive gone and taken about 2-3 songs from incomptech which provides free royalty free music as long as credit is given in the description. I will though be submitting my video to Film Festivals as well as Youtube. Should i give them a mention in my video or do some other permission requests or is a mention in the description good enough? Or anything else to be done ??

It depends on how you present the video. If it's on Youtube, having the source in the about section is good enough but if you are going to just present the video at a festival and there is no way to look at the "about section" have a music source in the credits.

Agree with the above. Description for YouTube is fine, but you need to credit the source in the credits section of your film for festival viewers.
