so im making a banner, and i want to put some characters from WWE on it, but im not sure if those are copyrighted. as far as i know only the logo will get you into trouble if used, what about the characters?

Yes they are, sadly. They can make a copyright claim if they so wish. Whilst the PEOPLE aren't claimable, the CHARACTERS (aka the Wrestlers) are.

If you have specific issue, I would e-mail them but generally not only would the characters not be usable by you, but you'd have to notify the photographer to use his or her pictures especially if you are monetising.

Using an image in a blending layer as a part of an image is fair use

Using an image in a blending layer as a part of an image is fair use

...so that means that i can mask them out of their picture and add them to the banner?

No probs!

I mean in all honesty the likelihood of the WWE even noticing your banner unless you were HUGELY popular would be slim but I always say it isn't worth the risk, you know?
