Copyright on Youtube- Music & Video

Hi All,

I keep seeing YouTubers using TV show clips, film clips and chart music in their videos. Is this allowed? I thought this would mean they would breach copyright.

They most likely are unless they have asked permission from the original owner of the content but Youtube and the owner usually let you have copyrighted content on your video as long as it has ads and there revenue will go to the original owner of the content. So its kind off a grey area imho not allowed but still allowed lol.

Small clips tend to be left alone with copyright strikes if you have monetenization and give credit to the owner. But best thing to do is ask permission from the owner of the video. But using someone's YouTube video who has the clip is different.
