Animation Confusing collaboration!!!!!

Hi!
I basically doing Whiteboard Animation videos to explain interesting Science stuff. I read some articles in the web about YouTube collaborations. So, do I need to collaborate with similar channel like me (but there is no much or else i cant find one). or i can go with any channel to shout out mine and same for them. Please explain. thanks in advance.

You can collab with anyone you want but if their channel is based on the same sort of content then their viewers are more likely going to enjoy your content too.

If they are completely different then chances are their viewers wont watch you which makes an aspect of the collab pointless.
