Community feature?

Hey guys,
I read somewhere that YouTube only offers their community feature to channels with at least 10.000 subscribers. But today I saw someone use it with 9000 subscribers.
Has that changed? And does anyone know when you can start using it?
I hope you guys know what I'm talking about. Like when I open my app I can see "community" posts by youtubers and people can reply to them

Yeah I was under the impression you had to have 10k+ subs too but I can't find the official information for it. Maybe that channel has lost 1k subs since getting the option.

To my knowledge that hasn't changed

I hit 11k subs and still had to reach out to YouTube to get it added to my channel. It’s possible they made a special request that was granted.
