Changing the bit rate on Final Cut Pro X?

Is it possible to change the bit rate of my video on Final Cut Pro X because the quality of my videos aren't that great when I render with FCP and I think that it's to do with the bit rate

yes you can! :] When you upload a video to an event, your clip should show up. Then when you drag that clip into a new project, you should get a pop-up asking you to identify the settings of the video. I usually select 1080p HD, then for the bit rate (it's on the very right of this pop-up), you can choose the proper bit rate.

Be sure to choose the appropriate bit rate or the video will come out weird. There are option from 23.98p to 60p, I believe :]
