Oh ya wanna build yur own one :D Thats the best but i hope ya have anyknowledge of how to build one :p Im also trying to figure out how i can build one myself :D The computer parts arent dat expensive but the CPU is basicly the most expensive part :(
Ahh ok that last part you said reassured me lol. I think I'm just super hesitant to buy a comp. bc I don't want to just get one and hope it works. Those specs seem decent.

If its a computer for editing consider a strong CPU - i7 dual or quad wouldbe fine.
Lots of RAM also helps, a minimum of 8GB.
Lots of Hard Drive space for storing all the video footage and data.
The GPU isnt as important since the CPU takes care of all the processing and rendering when editing video, but there are some really nice GPUs out there at the moment. Remember memory on the GPU isnt everything - lots of people just go for a graphics card with 1GB memory, but a 512MB one may be even better since its the speedof the RAM on the GPU that also needs to be considered.

My current PC is over 6 years old and I just feel like starting from scratch so I'm anticipating a modest price. Obviously I like to keep the price low but I'd be willing to pay up to like 1.2 preferably lower tho lol

Dont buy it prebuilt, build it yourself. For editing or gaming get at least an nvidia gtx650 ot 650 ti or radeon hd equivalent. This is necessary and most storebought pcs wint have a good video card, at all, you might think its good but its not. Secondly get the highest core processor you can, so take the i7 over the i5 almost any day (i7 is 6 core) get the highest quality processor you can. If you go the amd route, get the amd fx-8300. Its an 8-core 3.60 ghz processor and pricewise, better value than i7. Power supply should be at least 650 watts, dont skimp on it. Mobo doesnt rlly matter. 4gb of ram is good enough for the most part. Do 8gb if you want. Also, get a good ssd to have your programs on and then a standard drive for stotage. It is also extremely important to get a full 1080p konitor

Well yeah but in terms of specific models it really wont matter for the average person. Its like "yay another pci-e slot!" But yeah it is important but as long as it supports your hardware any board will do
