For my videos it takes about 1-1.5 hours to upload when I edit my final product is around 1.5-3.0GB depending on how long the video is then I use a free program called "HandBreak" its a compressor I put my videos through that and they end up being anywere from 520Mb-1.24GB and they are still in 1080p although it may or may not be TRUE 1080p it still looks good

Upload time really depends on two factors; File Size and internet Speed. I have slow internet but small files so it usually take ~45 min to upload a 180 mb file.

Here's my setup:

I record gameplay using Fraps (29.97 fps, 1600 x 900 px) and also my webcam (29.97, 640 x 480 px) using Windows Movie Maker. I then edit using Adobe Premiere using the 1600x1200 px res and 29.97 fps. When I'm finished I use the Adobe Encoder using the HD720 (1280 x 720 px), 29.97, H.264 preset and it spits out an .mp4 file.

Sure some resolution was lost but its all good. :)
Sounds confusing :eeks:

Yeah, there was a learning curve. Best of luck on your projects! I was amazed that your channel had so many views! You're miles ahead of me! :D
the only reason I have so many views is because I used to make lyrics videos, haha. My newer vlogging videos and other stuff don't have as much

I export the video as a .mov file then put it into a compressor which converts the file to MP4 literally takes 5 mins to upload a 10 min video and then processing around 10 mins :)

MP4 is best for YouTube because it can convert the files without losing much quality.

I use .wmv and I've never had any problems with it. File size has always been really good and the quality is usually fine. :) So, It might just be the program you are using or something is going wrong in the render process?

I render as a .wmv at 720p, then more recently I've been compressing it to a wmv again which cuts it down another 100MB or something. Loses a bit of quality but it takes an hour or so off my 2 hour upload time, just for a 12 minute file :)
