attn: Everyone who has been waiting for an email from RPM Network!

Maker Gen Jess

I've Got It
Hello! We know a lot of you have been waiting a long time for emails from RPM, and we think we know the reason why you haven't received them!

If your YouTube account is associated with a Google+ account, then there's a good chance that Google changed your YouTube email address to something like this: [username]-0000@pages.plusgoogle.com.

When you partnered with RPM, our system automatically pulled that email from your account and put it on file as your contact email. So, long story short, all our correspondence with you has been going to that email inbox.

What does this mean for you?

Well, to be honest, we're still trying to work that out! It looks like neither you, the channel owners, nor us, the network, were aware that Google made this change. So, congratulations! You, the users of YTTalk, are going to be our guinea pigs to help solve this issue. ;)

As far as we can tell, you should be able to access that email inbox by making sure you're signed into your YouTube account and going to youtube.com/inbox.

If you've been waiting over two weeks for an email from us (and/or have been explicitly told you had this email address associated with your account), can you do us a favor and check that inbox? There's a good chance your Welcome Packets, Maker Central Dashboard invitations, CMS emails, etc are in there!

If they are, please comment below and let me know and then I can relay that information to our team to spread it on a wider scale.

And then, if you do have a Maker Central invitation in there, you can go ahead and accept it, log in, and then put in a Support ticket to get the email address we have on file for your account changed to something else.

Thanks so much for all your help, guys! And thanks for being such a great community, too!:up::up::up:

I have noticed another thing once you have added the Google plus page to your YouTube channel you have to make sure to select the original email you signed up with in order to login to the Maker dashboard rather than the channel name, that might lead to some confusion for a few people, it got me at first as I was used to using the channel name instead :)

My channel is linked with Google Plus and I had never received an email at my personal address nor in the YouTube inbox. I was able to accept because YouTube had messaged my personal email (the one legitimate linked to the channel before the Google Plus shenanigans) and brought me to the dashboard where I accepted.

At the time I was able to sign in but the dashboard at Maker hadn't updated. Nothing was available aside from monitoring the status of my application which hadn't updated from the first step. Thinking "this Google Plus email thing is hiding emails and they're waiting for verification" I updated it to a Gmail account so I could forward emails to my primary, but it seems the Maker site won't let me log in at all anymore with any emails. It still has the old Google Plus generated email address linked according to the forgotten email link.

Yeah the "email" address Google allocate your newly linked accounts isn't a valid address and leads nowhere. I'm now stuck in a kinda limbo Youtube sent me the acceptance email from there end but I didn't notice the email issue until it was to late so no email from the CMS team.

Thinking about it, even if it was supposed to go the YouTube inbox, then I would have received an email for getting a private message. I haven't even gotten that, so I think you're right about the email address simply not existing. I think the system pulled a temporary email for validation purposes that wasn't meant to be used or something.

I assume the associated email can be changed manually on your end, @RPM Jess ?

Jess I went through the socialblade process, which allows me to receive my stuff at my hotmail account, will my cms email go to my hotmail or to this ghost inbox?

@conscast conzy, I would check both inboxes.

@Yeti and @lexxmarzain, it's beginning to look like the YouTube inbox solution isn't actually a solution, huh? :) We're going to continue to look into this on our end. In the meantime, you guys can go to and put in a Support ticket to change the email address associated with your accounts.

Thanks for the help, you guys!
Its in neither, could you check with cms if it was sent or not. I have heard that the g+ accounts are linking to a null email account.

Your invitation has not been sent yet. You should receive it within the next few days. And no worries about the email address associated with your account; I just checked and it's a regular email address and not a Google+ address.

Is at hotmail.com or gmail.com its a pain checking both.
