It depends really,
Networks become more lenient and open to negotiation the larger your channel is, large channels are usually offered a sign-on bonus to join a network, (I know networks such as Polaris do this a lot with big YouTubers).
Really, it's up to you, but if you are ever offered anything by a network or you are looking into them, remember to thoroughly research them, YTtalk is an excellent site for this and you can search for the network in question. I'd recommend reading my thread on what to consider when looking at a YouTube network, it should help with anything you don't understand.
