Anyone have luck with 'fair use' defense with getting violations reversed?

I have but it took a long time to do so. Even when YouTube said "Progressing further may invoke legal acts and court" but I didn't budge with their scare tactic. I was covered under fair use and it was pretty stupid that it escalated so far. In the end they released my video, took away my strike and reinstated it. The funny part was that none of this was conveyed to me. After all of the emails and appeals that we both sent they didn't even inform me when it was all settled.
I had a friend tell me that my video was back because he went to watch it. So I checked my channel and it was all good again. Who knows how long it was fine for? I don't because YouTube didn't tell me that the battle I was fighting had been won. So you can win but it might take a lot of time.
