I'm just wondering if there's any free video editing recommendations besides from Windows Movie Maker! I've been looking for something better so it will be appreciated! Thanks!

What sort of stuff do you specifically want it to do, if you tell me what exactly what you would like to do I could find you something that may help you out.

We'd recommend anything besides Windows Movie Maker or iMovie.

Virtual dub
A powerful freeware video editor with lots of features, including a choice of compression codecs, splitting, addition of audio tracks. Excellent.

Befriend an editor, they're always upgrading their tools and left with older programs that they'll likely hand over to an ambitious friend.

That could easily cost you a grand. There are decent cheap tools out there (Vegas), but currently Adobe Premiere makes the only professional editing software, since Final Cut decided it didn't want to be Pro. As you're a PC user, that's not even an issue. If video editing is something that you want to pursue, Adobe Creative Suite 6 has all of the tools that you'll need to learn. Personally I use Final Cut Pro 7 for picture cutting, and Adobe CS 5 for compositing and graphics.

Check out Blender (blender.org). You can create your 3D effects and do your video editing in one, all free. It also has a huge community.
