Hi guys,

I have noticed something about tags I thought I would share.

When starting I read that it was a good idea to create a unique tag that you put into every video, in the hope that it would help you get recommended on your own videos.

Whether this works or not I guess we'll never properly know, but in doing this I have found something.

My unique tag was my channel name and some numbers, so lets say channel999

When doing a search for my channel on Youtube, it will suggest the unique tag, and not the channel name.

Now, my viewers won't know about this unique tag, so it won't have been something that would have been searched for.

So it seems that the tag does get recognise by Youtube.

What can we learn from this? Not loads actually, but I still thought it might be of interest, and maybe proving that this might be a worthwhile thing to do.

Are you sure it is suggesting that unique tag or only suggesting it because you searched for it before? Try using incognito or guest mode and see if that tag pops up.

Either way, I doubt having a tag with your channel name and a bunch of random numbers will help.

I believe this should work...from all the tag research i've done on suggested video's.
